Bourne made it a six point weekend as they moved above Yaxley who were without Mark Paul and Ian Edge. In spite of a strong opening 20 minutes for the Cuckoos during which they went close with several healthy strikes on goal, two first half goals did the trick for the Wakes. They took the lead on 26 minutes through Miles Mason and Chad Millar added a second three minutes before the interval. The Cuckoos suffered a blow on the stroke of half-time as skipper Ricky Hailstone limped off with a nasty twisted knee that was to keep him from the rest of the game.

After the break, again it was Yaxley that made all the running but the Wakes held on to the lead despite conceding the only goal of the second half to Simon Acton after 54 minutes. Pacey Cuckoos substitutes Scotcher and Kingston created several more opportunities that just failed to be converted into goals.

Yaxley take on 4^th placed Northampton Spencer at Leading Drove on Saturday 30^th December – 3pm KO
