Counties League - Premier Division Raunds Town 1 Yaxley 4 Yaxley found their goal touch with an emphatic win at Kiln Park to move well clear of any relegation worries that may still have been lingering. After a half-hour onslaught from the Shopmates, Mark Paul gave the Cuckoos a 34th minute lead and Ricky Hailstone doubled the visitors' advantage from the penalty spot four minutes later. In the second half the Cuckoos dominated for long periods and Mark Paul scored his second eight minutes into the second half before Danny Frid replied for the Shopmates after 78 minutes. Sixty seconds later Steve Burns rounded off a comfortable Yaxley win with a phenomenal volley that powered and looped leaving the home' keeper rooted to the spot. Yaxley entertain this season's
bogey team St. Ives Town on Saturday 21st April - 3pm KO.
With the pressure off relegation, will the Cuckoos break the jinx and give
their supporters something to relish in their penultimate home game.
