The Cuckoos picked up a valuable point in their relegation battle as Gary Clipston's highly motivated team halted Potton's seven match winning run in this rare UCL Premier scoreless stalemate.

Yaxley continued their roller-coaster season as both teams created scoring chances throughout a fast and passionate battle where the referee stamped his mark with 2 bookings in the first 5 minutes.

Both 'keepers produced match saving performances, but there is no doubt that Cuckoos goalkeeper coach Phil Dunn was the hero of the night, producing a string of breathtaking saves - receiving a standing ovation from the supporters and players of both sides.

Yaxley's Mark Paul squandered the first of 3 his real scoring chances of the encounter which could have changed the game, the last being 10 minutes from the end when substitute James Picillo cut a perfect ball back across Potton's penalty area that took a last second bobble and finished over the cross-bar from Paul's shin.

A thoroughly entertaining game, a committed display and a much needed point for Gary Clipston who takes the squad to Northampton Spencer tomorrow (Thursday) evening and then entertain Long Buckby who haven't lost in their last 9 games.
