Counties League Premier Division The Cuckoos mean defence is becoming the key to their Premier Division survival as they moved a place further up the table. A third successive clean sheet took their points tally for the week to five and left Buckby's nine match unbeaten run in tatters. Defending against the gusting wind made life difficult for Yaxley's back four as demonstrated when Darren Harmon's 10th minute lob into the penalty area had 'keeper Jodie Vincent backtracking, the ball glancing off the top of the crossbar. The main pressure came from Buckby interspersed with counter attacks from Yaxley. It was anyone's game at the interval. The Cuckoos opened the second half with a torrent of distance shots and sustained pressure on the visitor's defence. James Picillo's persistent chasing was rewarded in the 53rd minute as he shook off a defender and bent a low shot around the advancing 'keeper to claim all 3 points.
