United Counties League - Premier
Division - Saturday, 22nd December 2007 Mark Burrows gave the Saints the lead after 17 minutes but the Cuckoos were on terms a minute before the half hour mark thanks to Ian Edge. Kevin Byrne opened his St Neots goal account after 47 minutes but with nine minutes left, Edge put in a powerful run and delivered a pin-point ball to Lee Blewett who volleyed home to give the Cuckoos a well earned share of the spoils. Manager Gary Clipston was delighted with the result and said that consistency will be high on his Christmas wish list. "We scored two excellent goals but gave away 2 that shouldn't have been." He said that the formational switch in the second half also worked and that Ian Edge had been inspiring up front. THE CUCKOOS HAVE A HOME FIXTURE AGAINST AN IMPROVING RAUNDS TOWN ON SATURDAY 29th DECEMBER - 3pm KO
St Neots: Jon Chatfield, Jon Hoggett, Mark Barry (Jon Hall), Tony Russell, Mark Burrows, Steve Dogbe, Mark Franklin (Steve Kuhne), Danny Marlow, Luigi Rocco (Ryan Francis), Barrington Belgrave, Kevin Byrne. |
